چکیده
Powder bed fusion is an emerging additive manufacturing technique capable of producing complex formed metallic structures, which are not possible to manufacture with conventional manufacturing. These benefits design freedom and manufacturability often exploited in aerospace together topology optimization produce components low mass high stiffness. However, monolithic structures lead weakly damped resonant vibrations threatening e.g. space missions or hazardous for mounted equipment. The integration piezoelectric elements the baseline active passive damping these structures. This work presents a novel 4D printing approach exploiting shape memory effect NiTi as pre-stress actuation assembly post-processing effort potential shock absorptance. influence on pre-stressing most significant requirement stacks investigated. Spatial Control of Functional Response in 4D-Printed Active Metallic Structures
We demonstrate a method to achieve local control of 3-dimensional thermal history in a metallic alloy, which resulted in designed spatial variations in its functional response. A nickel-titanium shape memory alloy part was created with multiple shape-recovery stages activated at different temperatures using the selective laser melting technique. The multi-stage transformation originates from di...

Many electroactive functional materials have been used in smalland microscale transducers and precision mechatronic control systems for years. It was not until the mid-1980s that scientists started integrating electroactive materials with large-scale structures as in situ sensors and/or actuators, thus introducing the concept of smart materials, smart structures, and structronic systems. This p...

In this note we give fundamental existence, uniqueness, and continuous dependence results (well-posedness) for a variational formulation of a class of damped second order partial diierential equations with unbounded input or control coee-cients. Included as special cases in this class are structures with piezoceramic actua-tors. We then consider approximation techniques leading to computational...

متن کاملSensors and Actuators in TCOZ
Timed Communicating Object Z (TCOZ) combines Object-Z's strengths in modeling complex data and algorithms with Timed CSP's strengths in modeling real-time concurrency. TCOZ inherits CSP's channel-based communication mechanism, in which messages represent discrete synchronisations between processes. The purpose of most control systems is to observe and control analog components. In such cases, t...
